Science and The Bible

Updated: Apr 18, 2020

At FriDudes, as some of you are learning fast, we are not afraid to look in the mirror. We'll take your heat and criticism. For those that love science, so do I. How is that possible some of you skeptics ask? Science is the the pursuit of Truth. I love Truth. I want Truth. I don't want to waste my time or beliefs on fiction. I bet you feel the same.

Truth, science is constantly correcting itself. The Louvre Museum and Library in Paris, France, has 3.5 miles of obsolete science books. 3.5 miles!

So here are some verses that I hope will blow your mind and for others re-affirm their beliefs...

Once upon a time 'science' said the world was flat. Written 2700+ years ago, Isaiah proclaimed the world is a sphere with the heavens above...

He sits on a throne above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.

Isaiah 40:22

One of the oldest books in the Bible, 'Job', states our earth is suspended in space. Science later confirms it...

He spreads out the northern skies over empty space; he suspends the earth over nothing.

Job 26:7

Once upon a time when science said there were roughly 1,000 stars in the sky, Jeremiah declares future descendants as the stars are countless like grains of sands on the seashore...

I will make the descendants of David my servant and the Levites who minister before me as countless as the stars in the sky and as measureless as the sand on the seashore.

Jer 33:22

Way ahead of the game here on the importance of blood and that it is what gives you life. To add on to that, the Bible says how God knows you intimately (even the hairs on your head). A preposterous statement for science until the Human Genome Project that mapped your very DNA. A code that defines everything about you including if you will bald or not....

For the life of a creature is in the blood and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life.

Lev 17:11

And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.

Luke 12:7

Intrigued? Good. The Bible is not as dumb as some of you think. Just ask Dr. Francis Collins who headed up the 'Human Genome Project' mentioned above. Dr. Collins was an ardent atheist. Discovering and mapping the DNA code was a revelation to him. Just like you thinking this website just magically appeared yet you discover the code and author that defines it. You can further dive in there by buying his book, "Language of God".

As for the inspiration for this content, credit goes to Rick Warren. If you are a skeptic, you probably never heard of the guy. Whether you like him or not, this author loves his approach with Truth and logic. Check out this listen and hopefully it broadens your mind as it did below...
