Recently, I went back into the desert to pray, read and listen. Above is a picture of Coral Mountain (well, a piece of it) located near La Quinta, CA. Zoom and you can sea the ancient coral.
Had a great time until I realized that I had a flat tire! Thinking that I was prepared, I retrieved a tube, pump and toolset only to find that I have the wrong wrench. Doh!
Fortunately, it was a slow leak and I was able to inflate the tire about every mile or so and limped my way home.
Do you have all the tools? I'm talking about the toolbox in your head and heart. Are you in the Word daily? Do you have the verse (tool) for every situation on your heart?
For example, when you start to feel anxious/worry (Phil 4: 6-8). When you start judging others (Matt 7:1). Marriage challenges with your wife (Eph 5:25). Wondering about your purpose (Matt 22: 36-40). And so on, you get the point.
If not, there is always room for improvement (Rom 3:23). We ALL need Rom 8:1.
Side note, my greatest growth and really getting to know those promises/verses above has been from small group Bible study and daily personal reading. Yes, I also attend and benefit from a large group church. My small groups and daily reading is what accelerated deep growth.
